It's okay. This is absolutely normal, and actually helpful for you. The psychological resistance you're experiencing gives you the opportunity to develop mental toughness. If you're not injured, go ahead and push through it. Pushing through the psychological resistance is actually part of the key to the 'runner's high.'
I learned this a few months ago, and now when the resistance starts up, I find myself grinning like a fool, because I know what comes next.

first of all, I don't know why you don't want to think. It can be a great time to get some perspective and a fresh look on things. But, if you don't want to, you can try thinking about your breathing or your footsteps or make a list in your head of something you don't mind thinking about. Example: come up with an actor for every letter of the alphabet.

focus on what you see around you while you run, dont over analyze. just let loose. feel the air you breath. run as if you dont have a care in the world. run like the wind! :) if you start thinking hard again, stop, close your eyes and take a deep breath..free your mind..
i think what you should be doing is yoga! this will definitely help you control your mind and body. it will cleanse your aura as well!

there really is nothing wrong with thinking while you run... that's actually when it do the most of my thinking...
if it really bothers you then try playing music or thinking of something you want to think about.
to be honest... i know where you are coming from. sometimes i think of the things that i have been pushing to the back of my mind while i run. but it can help ya get those things off your mind... it is actually kinda theroputic...
good luck!

Get an iPod or MP3 player and listen to audio books while you run. You will be too busy concentrating on the story to think.

Listen to music that you really really really enjoy that will make you take your mind off of whatever is bothering you so much. If music doesn't help you, then run with a good friend.

Distract your mind. Think of a tune. Focus on the birds. There's a million things you could give your mind to preoccupy it durring the run.

That's the best part of running. I use my running time to think over problems, review my day, and come up with goals or plans. I even sing to myself (silently) sometimes.

Stop trying, stop flogging yourself. When you let go of the effort to stop thinking, you are most likely to succeed.
