My mom came to visit about a month ago, and I took her to the Jack Daniels distillery where she bought a bottle of whiskey. Then they implemented the insane ban of liquids on planes, so she couldn't carry it back with her. Can I send it to her in the mail?

No. You cannot send alcohol through the US mail.

You can ask DHL, Fed Ex, and UPS and ask them if you mom lives someplace you can send alcohol to. I know that UPS ships wine, but I also know that it's frequently limited by local laws.

Violating the USPS laws is not a great idea so either find another way or keep it for her until she visits next time. : )

It's all about the collection of TAXES! What total BS. I am in the process of trying to get some JD's Sinatra Select and here in ND they must not let anyone send booze through any shipping group.
Some how, some way, I will get my bottles! screw the man and his powers against me getting my JD! lol

Yes, but you have to notify the shipping company-- you can't just pack it up & ship it. I used to belong to a wine club that originated in another state & the bottles were shipped through a delivery service such as UPS, USPS, DHL, or FedEx.

I work at a liquor store where i do our state to state alcohol shipments, so I can easilly tell you no. There are states referred to as "reciprocal states," where consumers can ship back and forth with ease. These states include California, Missouri, Oregon and so on. However, most states ban the shipping of alcohol because they want to control what its consumers drink. If you try to ship the alcohol yourself and get caught, you and the person you are shipping to will be heavilly fined. Your best bet is to contact you local liquor store and see what they can do for you.

Hi Stacy, I think you would get into trouble.Besides that it could get broken.Have you seem how the mail people handle packages. It would get broken for sure.Maybe you could send your mom the cost for another bottle. That way,NO one gets into trouble.
