When i was researching this topic (embryology) for an essay, i found this site and many others on the same topic. I thought it was incredible. For those that say Prophet Muhammad(saw) wrote the Quran or that it was the word of man, they weren't that advanced in that period of time so that argument is kind of mute. So it's certainly amazing to me...

This has been going around for a while -- when the koran was written, people (greeks, etc.) already had even deeper knowledge of embryology and other scientific/medical knowledge. This info was socialized w/ the communities that eventually wrote the koran. There is NOTHING special here. In fact, when we analyze it, the koran provides oversimplifications for the complex mechanisms, sometimes even getting things wrong that were known at the time!

I find it hard to believe that with women having miscarriages at various stages of fetal development since the begining of time did not know that we are inutero....they may have called it something else but I gaurantee they knew about it.....come on man, animals have miscarriages too!
