In general, I take the view that if kids are old enough to ask, they're old enough to get a straight answer. You don't have to get into all the explicit details, but you should at least try your best to get the general idea across.

Well you probably would not say things like, "keeping hard." Honestly, I do not think a child should know what impotence is. Why would they need to? But if my child was to ask me I would tell them the truth, no beating around the bush. When Males have difficulty keeping the blood necessary to make their penis erect it is called impotence. Now, hopefully you will not have to explain what a penis is and all that stuff. Assuming that has already been taken care of. If not, hats off because your in for a long night. But it is good for children to ask a parent instead of somebody else these questions. Embarrassing on the parents and child's part perhaps but at least you can give them the appropriate information.

i think you need to be straight with kids and explain without being too in depth like saying smoking can affect the fathers ability to have children because his penis would be affected by lack of blood. If they ask we should tell them and not be ostriches with our heads in the sand

that's a hard one.......no pun intended!!!!
I suppose if they were of an age where they would pick up on the ad actually being about men/willies, then you could just sit them downa and expalin that if they smoke they may experience 'problems' there....you don't have to go into the (again, please pardonthe pun) 'in and outs' of it all

You don't! You merely explain that it makes it harder to have babies, because the eggs and the seed are weakened by smoke, just like your lungs, you don't go into the mechanics of it!
