Seriously,is it like a coma or what is the difference?

The chances of recovery are impossible, but the body lives on.

Brain death is defined as a complete and irreversible cessation of brain activity. Absence of apparent brain function is not enough. Evidence of irreversibility is also required

In a coma you still have brain function. When brain dead nothing at all is happening in the brain. It is functionally dead with no possibility of recovery. It is a clear indicator that your best buy date has expired and you have been called home, the body is just not accepting the fact.

There is no brain function. Not the same as a coma.

Brain dead means that while the heart is still beating and the other body systems are still functioning, the person is essentially dead.

Brain dead is the end. It allows the family time to make some decisions about donating organs, making funeral arrangements, etc.

Brain dead means there is no measurable electrical acivity in the brain except that in the brain stem that regulates breathing and such. In coma's there is often measureable activity in the brain.

coma can cause you to be brain dead but brain dead is like being a vegetable just sit and stare all day. where as coma you are just uncouncis.

the body is kept alive by machines because the brain is no longer functional.the brain doesn't work the brain is dead.

It means that there is nothing left in your body to tell the heart to beat,which means you are dead.

you are what they call a vegetable- hons your thinking process is stopped, all motor movements like fel touch, and walking abilities are gone your heart is stil, pumping, but your mind is just stopeed it cant control your breathing fel touch, and when you must go too the bathromm its done either either tubs or bags you cant even control that function your breathing is hooked up to a monitor etc.
