A lot of good advice has been given already. However I think plenty of exercise brings you, in the long run, to your ideal weight. So if you are underweight, exercise will actually bring you to gain weight, assuming you are eating properly. If you are not underweight, and are gaining weight anyway through exercise, then it is as has already been said: persevere, and you will probably comie down to your ideal weight. Anyway I would rather be heavy and strong than light ans weak. Exercise will also improve your looks. So pay more attention to your life-style than to the scales: exercise well, eat well, sleep well, think well, relate well.

You are building muscle and losing fat. Muscle weighs more than fat and requires more energy to work. Therefore, as you continue to build strength you may see smaller sizes are needed for clothing, even if the numbers on the scale don't head in the direction you would like.
Please note: your body will plateau once it has gotten used to the type of activity you are doing. So, mix it up a bit and choose other activities, incorporate resistance/strength training, and alter your routines.

A POUND of muscle weighs the SAME as a POUND of flowers and weighs the SAME as a POUND of fat. The difference is the amount of SPACE it takes up.
You are gaining weight cause you are not eating enough. Your body needs fuel/energy to burn it efficently to lose weight. When you eat less and your body goes into "starvation" mode you either get stuck or you gain. Eat more healthy foods.

Making muscle out of fat! Good for you -that's what you want.
To some extent, your size, not your weight, is a big deal.
You can monitor things like your BMI - body mass index, your percentage of body fat, your cholesterol levels, your blood pressure, your endurance, etc., but if you're getting smaller while gaining weight, I'dhave to say it can only be a good thing.

You are gaining muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. You will be losing inches and you will see a flatter stomach, more tones up muscles.

Muscle is heavier than fat.
Over time you will lose weight as you stop adding muscle but keep losing fat.

don't foget muscles are heavier than fat. Try measuring your waist, legs arms etc then you can have a more accurate picture of your weight loss. Worked for me.
