There is no art or profession more difficult and more strenuous than that of molding the bodies, minds, and souls of children. Because these are tender creatures, easily influenced by wrong guidance, God made parents the first and most important educators of children. When God confides a child to the care of Christian parents, He seems to say to them what Pharoah's daughter said to the mother of the infant Moses: "Take this child and rear him for Me."
The family, then, in God's plan is the nursery school in which the man of tomorrow matures and is formed--for life and eternity. The foundations of Christian living are established in the home, where minds are opened to God's Presence in the Universe and virtue is nurtured and strengthened. Children are eager pupils following the examples their father and mother give--learning from their words, their actions, and their attitudes.

Wow, you're really askin for it.
It goes from one extreme, down the line, to the other end of the extreme. Most mainstream religions have strict codes of conduct for how one... ahem... performs. Then you have us normal people who just do what feels good with the person we care about. And then you have the hedonists (which are fun until they get the barbed wire). Some hedonists are akin to Crowley. And then you have those who are in sects which use Sex Magick... using sex in order to bring up as much energy as possible to use in a "spell".

Religion affects my attitude towards sex in the following way. I see it as the life giving, loving action that is a gift from God, but this powerful gift must be used properly and in the context of marriage. Religion teaches me this. And therefore, religion preserves this presious gift and prevents us from distorting or misusing it as the world teaches us to do.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden

It makes sex to be unnatural. Sexuality is a natural part of the human make-up. We are meant to have it, enjoy it and procreate using it. Religion has a regulatory effect where you constantly feel you have to check if you are doing something right in something that should only be between your partner and yourself.

It turns sex into a taboo and stops people from learnig about it. Just like science and religion. Neither go with religion real well, because they seem to be breaking what religion is telling people.

For Christians it is the blessing of God.. Heb 13:4 says the marriage bed is undefiled and that means that God has given it to the husband and to the wife for a REALLY GOOD TIME however much of whatever kind they want just so it is consensual... we have it so good...

in every way.. being raised in an extremely legalistic born again christian home, they raised me to associate sex as being dirty.. we didnt discuss it, acknowledge it , or know about it at all .. abstinence was the only thing discussed when i was finally about 17. and thats it.
by the time i went to college, i felt very lost. didnt know anything about anything. nothing about birth control, std's. none of the dangers of being sexually active, and/or how to protect yourself..
i think it was bad of my parents to keep it completely out of the picture..
now as an adult, i can see how much it affected my whole life in general.
encouraging purity till marriage is one thing. but not educating your kids on the facts is another.

Being an atheist, I don't care how other people diddle themselves as long as they're not hurting anyone else. I also don't feel any guilt when I premaritally diddle my girlfriend.
