Do you ever feel that our existence here on Earth is pointless? Unless you are a believer in an afterlife, does living make any sense? Could it be that this is all there is? Were religions just created by man's need to have a meaning and purpose in life?

Yes, of course, at times. There are times when I feel lost, but I seem to always come back to the feeling that there is more to life. I research and try to understand why I have this feeling, but its there, if I were to ignore it then I would be living in denial. This is just my perspective but I believe the need for God, proves God. There is a higher purpose to life I believe, but what it is, who it is and why it is is still alittle fuzzy for me. I guess I have faith, but I also believe in searching for answers. May you find yours. Namaste.

Yes, living makes a lot of sense...even without a belief in an afterlife. No, I don't feel our existence here is pointless at all. Yes, religion is exactly that. Man's need to have a meaning for things he can't explain even to himself. Which is probably why people hold on to old stories so tightly, even at the expense of others.

No, according to Buddhism the reason why we suffer is because we have want. And the reason why we reincarnate is because we need to atone for our sins, for lack of a better word, from our past lives. And those who did good, but did not seek out the truth of life are born into rich families. I think the only suffering that Paris Hilton has is how much money can she spend on well anything she damn well pleases. SO work hard, lead a good life, and hope for the best in the next. XD!

In the after life, you'll talk about the lives you've touched.

Every person you talk to , there should be an exchange, a giving. The is a Cherokee good bye. " Do 'n a da Goho' ne" It means -If I cross over (DIE) before you , I leave a piece of my heart and take a piece of yours until we meet on the other side.

You come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing, better to store your treasures in heaven.

Your existence is pointless when you only live for yourself.Love is the only thing you can give away and it will come back and fill you up. Love is the point of existence.

You are a cocktail the blessed bird and you are complaining?

OK then lets follow the logic. You point out wisely that man has a need to have a meaning and purpose in life. OK what else do we have a need for? Water, Air, Proper temperature, sex, food. All these needs serve a clear purpose in existence. Except for the two you mention. Why are they there? If we made up GOD then why didn't we evolve out of that silliness millions of years ago? We are rational beings so I would think the need to have a relationship with the devine is primary to our life experience. It was obviously put there by GOD. We deny it because to come to GOD on GOD's terms is a huge undertaking if we are to get real about it.

IMHO
GOD bless ya ,,,even if you're a Cockatiel

I have felt that way. You have to believe that things will change. Keep the faith. Everyone has a purpose in life. Pray. It will come to you.
