I currently have three dogs, 2 german shepherds (9 years the oldest and 10 months the youngest) and a schnauzer (3 years). I am brining home a new german shepherd (2 years 2 months old) tomorrow. the two GSD's stay outside while the schnauzer stays inside regularly. What is the best way to introduce the new GSD to the old GSD's and the Schnauzer? Oh, and please don't say take them all to a park and play with them at once because that honestly doesn't work for this breed. In fact, it will probably start tension. The two GSD's already have their individual kennels in the yard but i haven't added the third one yet.

I normally let the schnauzer out during variuos parts of the day so that he can releave himself. My current three get along great and never have had issues. I know the new dog was raised around other dogs so he is used to being around other dogs.

First of all, that's not too many dogs. I know what too many looks like and if you can take care of them all and give them all attention then it's not too many dogs.

But anyway, as far as the question... have you considered placing the new dog in a small kennel first to get the other dogs used to the presence? Usually if they can bark at each other for a while and get it out of their system it helps. Also, having one person hold a leash for each of the dogs and slowly letting them get close to each other (only after showing signs that there will be no harmful conflict) until they can touch and smell each other usually works for me. Dog fights are not easy to break up and some dogs do hold grudges so it's in the best interest of everyone if it's a gradual process.

Is the new dog mean....even just a little?
If not just hang out with them in the back yard....watch over them but stand in the middle....I'm sure the schnauzer will be able to stand up for his self....little dogs are only little by size not be heart.
If you see any problems the part the dogs...its going to take a few days before then become pals...

let the new dog in when there is no other person or dog around and spend time with the new dog so it can get use to you then slowly introduce the other animals and slowly introduce the other people

Geez! That's a lot of dogs. I hope you don't live in a regular suburban neighborhood. I am a dog lover but, there's such a thing as too much.

Introduce everyone on neutral territory.
