We're planning another pregnancy, and going back on isn't an option.

I have bipolar disorder (tend towards rapid cycling). This is going to be our second kid, and I was on both antidepressant and antipsychotic during preg and conception. Planning the same again.

Wow. Good luck hon. I guess it's all about outweighing the benefits and risks. Ask your doctor if something like Depakote would be safe for you after the first trimester.

Rest...make sure you have lots of help taking care of the other little one...see a psychologist for some talk therapy tips...I'm so bad I can't imagine going off bipolar meds for any reason so got me. lol

***Actually...thought of something else. Ask your doc if he/she thinks if fish oil may help at all. I know this is safe during pregnancy (from experience!!) and it never hurts to try if it will help!

you need to get alot of sleep.. that's the key with lithium, Also some relaxation .. If your trying to get pregnant DO NOT LET ANYONE ON HERE TELL YOU TO TAKE A MEDICINE OR SOME SORT OF HERB! Best to just go cold turkey..

Stay away from "triggers" - - and if possible try stretching or exercising. Yoga or anything that is suppose to relax... or try breatheing exercises... it take your mind of well... your mind.

ask your dr about lamictal--is safe to usse during pregnancy. can't help with lithium though--sorry

Keep going through it, it's worth it.

Exercise as much as you can.
