My 15-year old daughter says her temperature is always 96.6 ...she wasn't feeling well the other day but it was "normal" for her. My temperature is always low too but usually around 97.6. Is this okay?

A normal is derived from an accumulation of data from thousands of readings...a normal temperature is just this..."98.6" and is an "average normal" temperature. Some were much lower and some much higher but this is the normal average of a human body's temperature.. There for it is more than possible you and your child have a normal body temperature lower than the quote "Normal average" and could consider it a Normal for you as such....

Yes, people's temp fluxuates between around 96 to 99 degrees. some people, like myself run on the high end and others on the low. Very few people are constantly at 98.6. Unless her temp gets above 100 or below 94 there's not any need to worry.

Mine is always very low (lower 96) because of a thyroid condition.

It isn't anything to worry about. It is still within normal limits.
