Milk can not stop the reflux, it just helps to neutralize the acidity caused by the relux in the lower esophagus.
you must treat it with nexium not milk as milk has fat & this will stimulate more acid secretion by the stomach cuaisng eventually more reflux.

I don't have kids, but I have acid reflux and I know it can cause damage after a while. If you do not like what your peditrician says, please get a second opinion. The poor little guy must be feeling so miserable. PLEASE do not try those other suggestions until you see a doctor. They must not have seen that your baby is only 5 months old.

I don't know, for me the only way I have been able to stop it is with medicine. I think it depends how severe it is. If you have regular acid reflux or heart burn talk to your doctor, but Prilosec OTC works awesome. It is not fast acting, but is intended to be used everyday, rather thatn at the time of an occurance.

i get bad acid reflux, and i know how you feel - it isnt much fun. i find that milk doesnt really stop it happening but does relieve the pain when it does. i would highly recommend a remedy called 'gaviscon' its great! it really does stop acid reflux and can also be taken to relieve the pain from it. hope this helps!

Dairy Products are difficult to digest, and there for not a good idea for long lasting relief from your symptoms. If you have your symptoms documented, mentally or written, then consult your physician and discuss your options with him. They know better than me. I have been told dairy and spicy, are a no, no.
