The most intelligent collective thinkers, speculators and philosophers combined are so minuscule and insignificant in comparison to the Supreme Person or God, that it is ridiculous to even analyse the comparison.
The modern day scientists and philosophers are like frogs in a three foot well, trying to understand a vast ocean, the frog is always thinking in terms relative to his well. He has no power to think otherwise. The ocean is great, but he is thinking of the ocean's greatness in terms relative to his own greatness, therefore the frog and the frogs followers remain bewildered by relative knowledge of the three foot well.

I have belief and faith in the Only real GOD. I know he exists and people can get lost in a belief system. I really do not put my faith in smart people. I put my trust in the prudent. For example. To my acceptance, GOD favors a homeless man on the streets more than SHE favors a person prosperous in wealth and is a christian. Now this is not a belief, this is what I know. This is my answer to the Wisdom of THE GOD that people question so much. Don't ask about HIS wisdom if you do not want the answer. The answer is not agreeable to peoples beliefs. So mankind covet to try and out think GOD. What a task to behold. A true believer in GOD "knows" that HE/SHE/IT is in control of every last thing. That is why we question "why?" all of the time. Then comes the belief of "will" and "free will". But those with knowledge know they are both one and the same. The difference is, are you willing to accept GOD on HIS terms, or someone else's? When you aknowledge the true wisdom of GOD, it does not lay in the existance of creations. But in the BEing that made all that you see. Including what mankind labeled as "the universe"(to respond to your question). There is existance(me, you, the earth, sun, moon, stars, galaxies, plants, humans, air, water, angels, prophets, saints, sages, heavens, extra celestrial beings, planets, .......). The creations could be infinite for all that we know. People don't give enough credibility to the word "GOD". For all we know, the universe itself is GOD and the universe is infinite with no end. No one will ever know how the universe was created. If you believe in GOD, why don't you ask him as a friend "why did he make it the way it is?". But I am more than sure you already know that answer but others don't agree with it and you dare not speak of why bc you could be labeled as being insane. GOD by HIS true self gets bashed everyday. And we think we get bashed. The GOD waits, and every man has his day where all ties will be severed and you shall come to know HIS true wisdom. He gave HIS gift of life. Soon all shall understand why. Wait! PEACE!
And I am not talking about jesus.

Present your evidence that the universe was created. It exists, but must it have been created? And if so, who created your creator? At every turn, religion has threatened and impeded, even murdered to protect it lies, falsehoods and ridiculously primitive notions while science has increased human knowledge geometrically. Yet people like you continue to believe in bronze age fairy tales. You have a brain. Do something worthwhile with it. Near Eastern monotheist blood cults have been done to death and if we don't leave them in the past we will have no future.

Since I've had the good fortune to be acquainted with smart people but have never seen any evidence of the existence of any supernatural entity -- I gotta go with the smart guys on this one.

Why isn't okay just to say, "I don't know?" I do not have faith in man or god and how do you define god?

You are assuming that there has to be a "why". Most intelligent people simply accept that the universe simply "is".
