I dont believe the words religion and peace go together. historically wars are fought over one, or both, of two things money and religion. As much as the world seems to have changed so much to our eyes. If you stand back and look we are just throwing spears at each other , over the same two issues .

Because there is nothing about this religion that teaches peace at all. Muhammad killed many people and it is taught in the Koran. And we see the results of it nearly every day. There is no tolerance of other religions with Islam.

Are you basing this on current world situations??

You are judging an entire religion of millions on the actions of a few fanatics? What do you think of Christianity?

You realize that Christianity has been responsible for more deaths than the "nation of Islam", right?

Every religion in THEORY is about love and peace, just look at the catholic church, the judaism, buddhism...
The problem is with people, NOT with the religion. It is really hard for human beings to be virtuous. I suppose that our education, the environment we're stuck in, and the media manipulation that make us all judgamental and close minded. Islam itself is really about peace, but extremist groups like the Taliban have made everyone think that Islam is all about being horrible. I do not know any muslims, but I am sure they must be really tolerant and friendly.

IT is not hostile - it is peoples interpretations of the religion that make it hostile. There are many denominations within islam...just like in christianity you have pentacostal, catholics, anglicans etc...all apparently the same religion with different interpretations, it;s the same with islam. It is part of the islamic law to be peaceful but obviously these guys, unfortunately, interpret differently

Islam is not hostile. Extremists are hostile. They same could be said for fanatical Christians, who are really unlikeable people.
