I would go to a hair salon and have it done. Sometimes it pays to spend a little money. I messed up my hair really bad back when I was 17 and it was a blackish green and a spotty mess. Finally I decided to treat myself and get it right. It was well worth the money spent. Besides, who deserves to be pampered more than you. Plus you will walk out feeling beautiful and sexy!

why would you only want to dye the top of your hair platinum blonde? Well, if it's already damaged, then you should take good care of it by letting the rest of your hair grow out. Or if you have really bad roots and want it to look nice, have a hairdresser help you out. It sounds weird, but if you buy cholesterol from the beauty supply store, it really helps. Leave it in for about 5 minutes or more, and it'll keep your hair silky smooth. Also, u might want to just start out with highlights, like someone said earlier. Then, gradually get it to the color you want your hair to be. Going from black to platinum blonde for all your hair can be traumatic and make it even more damaged.

I think you should wait till it grows out or at least go lighter one shade at a time because I bleached my hair (at a salon) after it was dyed black and it was extremely damaged. I had to cut it for months before I could grow it out again healthy. Oh yeah, some of my hair wouldn't even take the color (blonde) because the black was too strong (it came out orangey). I have red hair now and I still have a section of my hair that won't take any color! Don't do it!!!! haha

Use some kind of protein on your hair. When you use bleach it takes the protein out. Use protein and moisture. Hilights would be better than putting it all over. When they grow out a little bit retouch JUSTTT what has grown out. You don't need it on the ends again. I suggest a professional product called Wella Liquid Hair Restructerizer. It is liquid protein. Spray on TOWEL DRIED HAIR. If it is full of water it will not hold anything else. Then dry it. The heat activates it then at the end use your cold air button on the dryer to smooth down your rough cuticle and it will give it some shine. PS Let a professional do it PLEASE.

Go to the ethnic aisle of the grocery store and but a small bottle of sesame oil. Take about a third of a teaspoon and put it in your hand, rub your hands together to warm the oil and work it through your hair, use a half tsp if you have longer tham shoulder length hair.
Just keep running your hands through your hair and scrunching it. You will see as you keep working it, you will spread the oil evenly and just let it stand for about fifteen minutes.
You can warm yourt hair with a blow dryer and let it cool then shampoo your hair as usual. You don't need to condition it.
Some people use mayo, but they hate the results because they use too much and nobody wants to go out smelling like a salad.
Just try the sesame oil treatment, it has no ammonia, no perfumes, no chemicals. It works on damaged hair and I hope you like it.

Don't use bleach! & don't have your hair dresser use anything called an "eraser", it will permanetly ruin your hair. I suggest scheduling a consultation with your hairdresser, and he/she will probably have you come back multiple times to gradually lighten the color. This is not something that should be done in one sitting. I learned this the hard way.

Please don't damage your hair again. I suggest that you go to a hair salon talk to some of the stylist to see what advice they can give you (after all they are professionals). Work with what they give you. Don't keep damaging your hair because you'll start to regret it. I did and now I wish that I hadn't did what I did. My hair used to touch the middle of my back now its barely pas my ears.

As a hairdresser, Good Luck. Getting black to platinum is absolute hell. I did it once myself many years ago, my hair had to be cut short. Get it to a red or brown and leave it. Let the black grow out before attempting this.
