Well, there are many types of sex offenders. Some do involve children. While it would be ideal that predators would have no interaction with children; its impossible to regulate. Some states try to implement limitations on where they can live and jobs they can take, but its just not realistic. Check the laws in your areas and if you know someone is breaking those laws; inform the police.

If the Sex Offender have not undergone any rehab, help, or confrontation, he is definitely not supposed to be with children (even his own children).
However if the sex offender is open to deal with his situation, willing to undergo rehab (or have undergone) or received help, it is okay BUT on certain conditions:
* That the sex offender will have continuous counselling.
* That the sex offender will not be with the children on suspicious or uncomfortable settings like being alone in a closed room.
* That the children know their rights, can identify sexual abuse, and know how to protect themselves from sex offenses.
In this case, you may be dealing with protecting the children and helping the sexual offender overcome himself and NOT be an offender anymore.
Good day! :)

if the person is a registered sex offender then you need to call the cops right away. we went thru that and wasn't told that my friends father was a sex offender who moved from a certain state we allowed our 2 younger children. my youngest became afraid of bathrooms and then we found out he was arrested for abusing his own grand daughter. we couldn't prove that he did anything to my daughter, but that is scary. we also just recently found out there are 10 sex offenders around my own house, 2 so near my daughter bus stop we have to walk her there every day and she is in 6th. its scary and we don't like it, then i saw one of the pictures of the sex offenders web site of a woman i saw last year pick up her grand childchild from school the same time i did. that scared me also. we called the cops they said if i saw her again to call. so be cautious. make sure this person really is on the sex offenders web site. the biggest thing is make sure.

YES they are they work in places where kids are. They teach them, they are in playgrounds, they are in your churches, they are in your neighborhoods, they work at McDonald's, they may even be in your family ........there is NO that can keep them from living around children. DO NOT think I don't what I am talking about, the niece that raper my 5yr old lives across the street from us and the wonderful CHILD SERVICES does nothing but breath down my neck once a month. I cannot afford to move yet Imagine my child is a prisoner in her own home. DO NOT let your child out of your site.
DO NOT listen to laws about protecting your child it is all do not think the child services care they don't they lie and will treat you like **** talk to you like you are stupid
the monster who molest has the rights unless you have DNA and that isn't a sure thing

Well if they hav" nt been found out yet, there is really no control, but if anyone does know one it is their moral and legal responility to report it either to the persons parents, caregivers etc. that a child may be in jeopardy (.community control is the best way to monitor anyones behavior,)What better punishment then to be left alone. If u r sure the person could harm a child BREAK THE SILENCE tell whoever it is necessary to tell including the police. It is a crime not to. Thanks for caring. Curious 2006

if you are a sex offender and your Vitim was under the age of 18 then you cannot be around children, but if your Vitim is over 18 then it is OK or that is the way it is in Illinois.

In most states they have to register for the rest of their life and are not allowed with anyone under 18, unless supervised by an approved adult.

If it's something that you don't feel 100% allright with - go with your gut instinct!
A child who is molested can be scarred for life - don't let someone make the choice to change that child if you can help it!
He/She could turn out to be someone very different than they could have been.
For God Sake! Speak up for the innocent vulnerable ones. If we don't protect them, who will??
