We were walking our dog and this nice couple has a female and wanted to do some breeding. I know nothing about breeding so I was wondering (not being selfish) if I could earn some money off it because I was talking to my friend the other day and he says I could make some money. Thanks

If you want to breed him, i'd first go to your local animal shelter, ask to speak to the manager. tell the manager that you plan to breed your dog and want to see what kind of pet problem there is in your area, Ask to assisit in that weeks euthizing. Then go in look in the eyes of every animal you get to help kill and then think this could be one of my pups. After your done go home hug your dog and bring him to the vet and get him neutered

Ok this just came to me... The people approched you on the street and asked to breed your dog with theres?? Did they ask if he's healthy? Or even bother to ask how his family history is? It sounds like the people who want to make money are the people who own the female dog. Are they really desperite to breed her with the first intact male they find? Honestly they may give you a few buck and charge an arm and a leg for the pups and they probley wont even sceen potential buyers, if you got the $ you get a puppy.

Most Bulldogs have to be artificially inseminated, the female can get hurt from the weight of the male, and they are usually not able to do it anyway. They also have to get c-sections, not to mention, hips, eyes, and hearts should be check (both dogs) by the appropriate specialists.

Having a litter of Bulldogs can cost thousands, only to have 2-3 puppies. They are notoriously hard and expensive to breed, and breeding this breed in particular, really should be left to professionals.

Many stud dogs will have an increase in male behaviors like marking, humping, and aggression. Some studs can become VERY hard to handle. Is it worth it to have a peeing, aggressive dog for the rest of his life? He will remain a much nicer pet if he is never used.

At any rate, you need to educate this couple about the realities of breeding a Bulldog *****. Do they have thousands to put into a breeding? If they do not know what they are doing it is very possible they could lose their *****. Breeding this breed really is not for a novice breeder.

Please do not breed your dog. You are breeding only for profit, and know nothing about breeding. This is called back yard breeding, and sadly most of these puppies will end up in shelters. No responsible breeder would take up an offer from a random couple wanting to make money on the breeding of their dog. Responsible breeding is to preserve the breed. I am guessing your dog is not from champion lines. Not to mention there are many tests the dog would or at least should go through from your vet to breed. Go online to Petfinder and type in bulldog, see how many abandoned Bulldogs there are. That right there is the reason not to do this.

from what I'm told some b,dogs have to be artificially inseminated, because the front end of a male is much to big for the female,he might break some legs or hurt her back.besides there are way to many companion animals with no home because to may people breed to 'make money'.not to mention there are many other health factors like temperament and such. so do yourself a favor and run far away from that one!!

If your dog has not been shown and earned a chapionship title from AKC your are not going to make big money breeding him. No ethical responsible breeder is going to use an unproven, un ranked dog fro breeding' You will only be adding to the over population of pet dogs.
You have not done any of the genetic testing to even know if your dog is healthier enough to breed or has any qualities that are worth passing on.
Just becasue you like him and think he is good pet does not make him of a high enough quality to be consodered a good stud dog.

My breeder has a male pitbull and he gets anywhere from 700-1500 just to stud him out. If you plan on wanting a puppy you can make adeal with them that you get first pick of the litter or you can say that you want a portion of what the puppys' sell for. It is all up to you what you want to charge or how you want to make the deal.
