the school board says they are trying to ban book bags so kids cannot bring guns,weapons,drugs to school. is this right to do??

My question to them is then, "How do you propose to have students carry their books and homework back and forth from home and school?"
If they can come up with a reasonable solution then perhaps it could be considered...but I can't think of one they would likely support.

ohh yah why dont we all get rid of our book bags so we have to carry 30 pounds of books home cause these teachers load us with homework, cant they just come up with clear backpacks?

well, some schools acctually have metal detectors hidden in their doors... but how else would kids bring their books and stuff? they cant just carry it! seriously... i cant even carry my stuff

I think that's ridiculous.. there's too much that students have to carry... lose papers, binders, spirals, books.. etc.

YES!!!! I THINK THAT BECAUSE WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING ENDANGERED AT SCHOOL. AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A LOCKER!!!
