Human beings are only able to regulate and work thier brain with information that they have been exposed to in the world. For example, Humans are trichromatic and only can see colors within the range of 3 receptors, therefore any other colors outside this range will never even be fathomable by the human brain, no matter how hard we try. Some non-mammalian animals, however, are tetrachromats, and can see and comprehend a range of colors beyond a human's imagination. I believe that the afterlife is just like this hidden color receptor- we have never been exposed to it and therefore our brains will never be able to think about what it is like. All the theories which people have attempted in the past would not even be a consideration if this is true. No matter how hard we wrack our brains to comprehend the afterlife, it will never don upon us until we are there to experience it.

That's just special pleading, and unfortunately there are an infinite number of things we could *imagine* to be true, and just say "oh well it's just not fathomable to us". Maybe there's a parallel dimension with non-human entities watching our every move like a reality TV show, but we just don't have the right senses to detect them. It's as plausible as your afterlife theory, and precisely as unfounded. Do you see the problem? If we're just going to suggest that things exist with absolutely no valid supporting evidence, then we'll have to accept any old story that someone comes along with, on that basis.

Sorry, but I need rather more justification to believe something that remarkable.

you are right, we cannot start to comprehend anything which we aren't exposed to (thru sight, sound, smell, taste, touch & if you believe in a 6th sense, in that too)

& only thru these sense that we are able to gather any type of information (on any subject).

if you haven't gotten any "rational" information about the afterlife... then you are free to believe in that theory (or unless another "more believable" theory comes along to change your mind).

but saying that all other theories would not even be a consideration is a little hard to swallow...

Actually, scientists detect things outside the realm of our perception everyday, via computers, radio telescopes, x-rays, etc. Therefore, if your theory is correct, we would definitely be able to detect an afterlife, with equipment, but not with our direct perception, except those people with special brain abilities.

that is true- our minds cannot wrap around operating outside of the boundaries of time, we cannot imagine perfection- the earth the way God originally created it - because we can only understand things from our own experiences and perception.

It's as likely as any other afterlife theory, assuming there's an afterlife

I think it's the opposite. The afterlife is what we want it to be. For some, that's Disneyland. For others, it's Hell.
