It must be since agnostics claim they cannot answer the question.

The question does not relate to proof.
The question is:
WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
You don't know what you believe?

I don't care if you like me, this is the Internet and as soon as I log off, you all go away...
Based on the majority of the answers, it appears agnostics believe in excuses.

I believe there is a God. I have no knowledge that He exists, it is just a belief. I don't like you very much.

Nope. I'm an agnostic, and I don't believe in God, so I'm an atheist too.
Agnosticism is a philosophy regarding what we can and cannot know for sure. It is not about what we believe. It simply says that we cannot know whether gods exist... a theist and an atheist can both be agnostic.
I think that people have taken this label without understanding the meaning of it. You either believe or you don't at any given moment (I know that it's possible to believe at moments and not believe at other moments).
Even if you just lack belief, you are still an atheist.

The definition of an agnostic is one does not offer proof toward the existence or the non-existence of of God. As an atheist can you prove the non- existence of a god? Man has been trying to get to the heart of an atom for years yet they keep finding more and stuff and never have gotten to the one piece of matter yet. It's all in what you want to believe and scr** everybody else's opinions. And I believe I've got a good idea that works for me and probably wouldn't work for you because it's not your idea.

Hard one to answer I am an agnostic myself I sit very hard on that fence yes I believe that Christ exsisted and that he did alot of great things and was a great man but God is hard for me to believe in because their is no proof that he walked this earth or that anyone saw him, only that people heard himtalk to them. It does state in the bible that Crist was made of his (God's) image but how do we really know that when we don't really know what he looked like ourselves.

Not at all. I don't claim not to be able to answer the question: I claim that answering the question is irrelevant as there is no evidence either way. I feel the same way about questions concerning the giant invisible, weightless Universe farting duck on President Bush's head.
How is it intellectual lazyness to not answer an irrelevant question?

In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

It depends though. On their point of views, there're great evidents from both atheism and religions too. Which side should they pick? Maybe the test of time will tell them, maybe the environments that's around them will someday show them. In another word, those people need time to analyze from both sides, and to experience it too.

I am atheist and I can answer your question. NO! he does not exist. it is just fantasy for insecure people to have something to belong to. prove that he does exist. remember I don't believe in your faith so you need to show me some scientific proof, not just your religious rhetoric

I think "I honestly don't know" is one of the best answers anybody could give to lots of questions. It's actually the only logical answer to give to the question whether or not God exists.

"The fool who thinks he is wise is just a fool. The fool who knows he is a fool is wise indeed"
- Buddha -
It is better to admit that you do not know something than to claim to know it when you clearly do not...
There is no conclusive proof either way...
If I were to believe either way it would be putting blind faith in something, and blind faith is never a good thing. We should only accept something as true when it is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.
"Believe nothing.
No matter where you read it,
Or who said it,
Even if I have said it,
Unless it agrees with your own reason
And your own common sense"
