According to the church and it's interruption of the Bible, sex is a sin before marriage and masturbation is always a sin. I guess in these days, interruption of the Bible should be up to each individual and let them consider what is a sin and what is not. Life is to short not to enjoy every moment of it and sex is part of that enjoyment. If sex is so wrong, why is it that so many priests have been found guilty of sex crimes lately?

Well, the bible is quite clear that premarital sex is a sin. The apostle Paul (he wrote Romans-Hebrews in the Christian Greek Scriptures), said many times over that fornicators would be judged by God, and would not inherit God's Kingdom. In Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians) 6:18 he states "Flee from fornication. Galatians 5:19 says that the works of the flesh include fornication and then it goes on to list other works of the flesh. In verse 21 of the same chapter Paul says "As to these things I am forewarning you, the same way as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God's kingdom". A really good article that explains from the bible is here: http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2004/7/22a/article_01.htm. The scriptures can be read on the page by clicking on them (highlights them from the bible so you can read as many or few of the scriptures surrounding the quoted one as you like). You can also use your personal copy of the bible, or any translation that you prefer to use. The article goes into why it's wrong, and it does discuss the consequences both physically, and regarding God. I strongly encourage you to read the article in it's entirety, and look up the suggested and quoted scriptures. If nothing else it does give you the biblical stand on premarital sex. Regarding masturbation if you go here: http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2004/2/22b/article_01.htm you will be able to read about it. The article is about telephone sex but it does discuss masturbation. Scripturally there isn't one particular scripture that says it's wrong, but this article will help you to understand the reasons around it's being regarded as wrong. If you go to the web-site www.watchtower.org, click on publications and then onto Yong People Ask. The publication deals with these issues among many others from the bible, which seems to be important to you (and rightfully so!). I hope this helps you in your search.

I can only answer for the Catholic church.Intercourse before marriage is frowned upon, and you must confess this to your priest. Intercourse with another person ,other than your spouse is a sin, and you must ask for absolution from the priest before you are forgiven in the eyes of God. The priest will also ask you to come in for counseling, because this is a very grave sin. You have broken one of the 10 Commandments, and your marriage is in jeopardy. Masturbation is also a sin which must be confessed for you to receive absolution.

The bible does say that intercourse is a sin before marriage. Lots of different religions also believe that masturbation is a sin. I also know a lot of christians who believe that masturbation is healthy and not sinful. That God gave us the gift of sexual pleasure.

Keep in mind that these are interpretations, and such arbitrary rules only have as much weight as you give them, and are only as real as your belief in that religion.
