Why is it "Lutheran" when Martin Luther begged that people be "only Christians" and NEVER BE CALLED BY HIS NAME?

Wow, that would take a long response, but Presbyterians follow theologians called John Knox and John Calvin. I would look up Calvin first. That would cover the theology. Prebyterians are governed by an elected body within the Church calle Presbyters. Lutherans have a more structured governance. They have Archbishops, Bishops, Cannons and Priests (now sometimes called Ministers).

My father-in-law once told me that Baptists were the working poor, The Presbyterians were the middle class and the Lutherans were the rich people. He was an atheist.
