I'm a dentist.

I get that question a lot. The truth is, it depends. It depends on the quality of the porcelain, the quality of the work that went into making it, the quality of the resin used to cement it in place, the design of the prepared tooth (which dictates the design of the veneer), the eating habits of the patient, the parafunctional habits of the patient (grinding, etc.), the oral hygiene habits of the patient, and probably other things I cannot think of at this moment.

Typically though, you can expect a veneer to last a good 10 to 15 years. Don't be surprised if it lasts longer though.

Personally i dont agree with veneers. If the preparation work is good and the lab is a good one and you look after it well enough, they should last for some good few years. Just like anything done in dentistry it is likely to fail or tire and require a new one

Survival rate?

They last between 20 + years. They are as strong if not stronger than your regular teeth.

If yo uare thinking about getting them, don't go for the cheapy ones like Lumineers they are like Lee Press On Nails and the survival rate of those is way less... also they look bad.

Go with a brand like MACVeneers, they look very natural and really awesome! www.macveneers.com

Depends entirely on how well you take care of them. I have a friend who has had veneers now for over twenty years. But I know another who had bruxism, fractured the veneers in months.

Should be for long time.....I had one of my 9 replaced after 12 years due to an undermining at the gum line possibly by a popcorn kernel piece and needed to redo...

They last about 20 years so if our not 60 start saving now they will have to be replaced before you kick the bucket

I had two, one lasted 26 years, a head clash with my grand daughter ended that one.
I still have the other, now 28 years.

They should definately last 10 to 15 years if you look after them, if not then they'll come off sooner. However they can last alot longer if you're careful with them
