During the vietnam war some convicts were allowed to choose between time in prison or do a year in combat in vietnam. I don't know how that worked out. But I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to enlist. It would all depend on the crime commited.

Absolutely not. The reason they are convicts is that they have demonstrated theyre totally incapable of taking discipline, and lack the self control to follow orders and carry out assignments. most convicts would not want to serve anyway, they are generally self centered and interested in their own pleasure. anything that would involve self scarifice discomfort or reasoning would be alien to them which is why they are locked up in the first place. all common sense.

Yes. I believe that anyone, and everyone, should have the opportunity to fight for their country. As long as they do not pose a threat to the safety and security of those around them, and to their mission, than why not? Maybe the military could offer them the incentive to turn their lives around.

hmmm tricky question. hypothetical qustion to ask:
when you need to deal with someone, do u send a preacher or a man who is not afraid to break a jaw or two?
just kind of a thought, no real opinion on it here.

as long as they go through a mental evaluation first, people do screw up sometimes, but if they honestly feel in their hearts to support our country then i see no reason not to let them have a shot.let any one without sin cast the first stone. of course, it would have to be regulated, as in no rapist, prevert's, etc. etc.
