Flea powders and collars are a very old fashioned way to try to control fleas. The liquid you can get from your vet is much more effective. We use a 'Frontline' heartworm pill that has an ingredient in it that kills flea larvae. My 2 dogs are flealess. Talk to your vet.

flea powders contain chemicals poison that is absorbed through the dogs skin and should never be used as is flea shampoos. frontline is the number 1 flea and tick preventative and is safe for cats and dogs. If you are just concerned about fleas you can mix in a spray bottle one tablespoon Amways skin so Soft and water, shake well. Mist dog and massage in Helps dry skin smells nice and keeps fleas away

NONE flea powder sucks and NEVER really works, not to mention it is a hassle, its dangerous and it can be inhaled causing lung damage.

You should consult with a vet, most flea powders etc. have been known to do serious harm on animals.
I think advantage is okay, but you have to read the directions. you put a couple of drops on the dogs neck and it does the job nicely :)

We use Revolution for our Alaskan Husky,it does it all including heartworm. It expensive though.But sometimes your vet can sell you 3 month supply or less if you need them to. As far as the house goes get a bug sprayer you can get them for like 15.00 at walmart and order liquid Sevin dust.Make sure your pet and you are at least out of the house untill it dries.But do your baseboards and window sills in and around the border of your house outside. Keep your floor vaccumed as well because whatever falls off can lay eggs . Since we have been on revolution our dog has been tick free and flea free for a year now."knock on wood"

wouldnt recommend flea powders. Try frontline, advantage, or advantix. frontline and advantix are more waterproof.
