If a car is determined to be a lemon, then it means that it went back to the manufacturer to be fixed and % 99.99 of the time will be o.k, but with all of the vehicles out there why risk it. By the way I work in Auto Finance so I am very familiar with this.

if you buy it with a as is sticker , something goes wrong it's yours. end of story. as is means as is and is legal. unless your talking about something the car maker re-called . then its yours. Even parts (after market new on the shelf )sometimes just aren't no good. Test drive it run it for a while check the lights and electrical stuff make sure it goes on and off. Make sure it's not one that's been in a flood from the hurricane . Just check it good and just use common sense. Make sure they answer questions with out a bunch of story's. If its to good to be true I'd let it go and take a pass on it . Good luck
