My cheese seems to mold after 4 days. I have it in a tupperwear container. Is there a better way to store it?

I already store in in a tupperwear container in the fridge but it seems to go back after 4 days. Is there something else I could do?

4 days is pretty fast. I always keep it in its original package and then i put that into a ziploc freezer bag as well in my fridge. I can reuse the ziploc bag with my next block and honestly a block of cheese stays good in my fridge for almost a month. Maybe the temperature of your fridge is too warm?

I always put mine in ziploc baggies..I have had some specialty cheese I got on a vacation in the fridge for about 3 weeks and no mold. I think it also depends on the type of cheese...Drier cheeses do not mold as fast.

You need to vacuum seal the cheese. If you store it in a Tupperware container, there is still air inside the container...that is what is causing mold on your cheese. If you vacuum pack it (like you got it in the store) it should last well over a month.

i like to purchase shredded cheese that's a extensive time saver. What i do and have constantly completed is purchase the large bags of cheese and divide it up into smaller freezer risk-free ziplock bags, and freeze it. It maintains to be sturdy for some month or so.

Normal Person,

My grandmother, who was a treasure trove of handy hints, showed me how to keep cheese unmouldy.

Insert the cheese into a large jar of formaldehyde.

Alternatively, insert the cheese into another large jar of unleaded petrol, which will almost work as well.

Either way, the cheese should last for years. I still have my grandmothers collection on display in my house.

Cheese IS a mold. Just cut the mold away and it will be fine.

mold on your cheese is a natural process of aging but for it to mold in four days is unusal unless it is blue cheese or roquefort......i keep mine seal air tight and it last a month but using eaten before that...

Well I usually wrap mine in aluminum foil or saranwrap and it lasts for a couple of weeks or more. Just wrap securely.

Four days just doesn't sound right. Is your ice box working properly? Are other foods spoiling too?
