We have been through an issue before where I caught an inappropriate voice mail on their phone. We are suppose to be pass this but i have a feeling that something else is going on. Everytime I bring up the issue about their phone they always say that we should both be allowed our own space (privacy). I would like to believe them but I do not feel completely certain. What can i do????

Trust your instincts. If you feel like something is not "quite right" then chances are, it's not. Considering that there is a history of something, you are justified in checking the voicemail - your concerns are not completely unfounded. Good luck.

First of all - you are spouses and shouldn't hide anything. If there is trust - there shouldn't be an issue with you checking voicemail/email, etc. Yes, you both still need to have your privacy, but unless the partner has something to hide....well, they aren't going to want you to look/hear anything.
You need to find out.

If they aren't guilty of anything, why should they care? When you are married to someone, there shouldn't be any secrets! Privacy? LOL

having a relationship is hard if you have no trust. Either learn to live with his wishes or do it anyways and find out what you have known all along.

You must trust her, but then again she shouldn't have any secrets from you.
