Depends on the size of the peaches - if you get really local ones at the farmer's market, you'll get different species over the course of the season -- some are little, some are big. I don't know, with average size supermarket peaches I guess I would buy about 2 or 3 of them. That will probably be more than you need but I can't imagine your recipe will be harmed by putting a few extra fresh peaches in it.

An average size Georgia peach would make one cup. If you push the slices down and squash them, you could use two peaches.
