Same problem! I have 5 cats but the oriental shorthair will not leave me alone( he is sleeping now) He jumps on my back and crawls around my neck and then slowly steps down on the keyboard. Last week I had a iced tea close and he knocked it over on the keyboard, it took a few hrs to dry. One of my cats is mad cause i now have a flatscreen and he can't lay on the top of the monitor, but I love them!

If they are just walking on it, u are doing well. Last year, about 3 months after I bought a new laptop and left it open and came back a few minutes later and they were all running around with chewed keyboard keys in their mouth...they had ripped it apart!

You should get a new keyboard, and leave the old one on your lap so if your cat wants to lay across again it would do it on the mock one.

yeah. i have two cats and they both do that. the other thing that they do is chase the mouse all over the screen. once in a while though, you will need to clean the fur out. i suggest that you use a can of compressed air. you can get it at any computer store or walmart like stores.

My cat does that to me all the time, if he wants to lay in my lap he will plop his bum right on my keyboard, see I have a laptop and its always on my lap. So anyways he will try to know the thing out of my hand.. He wnts to be the only thing on my lap..hahahaha

Ha ha ha! Nooooooooo.

My kitties walk all over my desk, but they all know that they may not put even one little toe or claw - not so much as a whisker! on the keyboard!

They lay on my lap, on the desk, and on top of my monitor, and sometimes they tap the screen to try to catch the cursor (I tease them with it!) :-)) but they step very carefully around the keyboard! :-))

The cat loves the space, because you are at that space. My friends cat likes the piano keyboard.

I was acctually just suffering the same spoild cat problem as yourself, though just before i read your question i pushed him onto my lap where he is now purring loudly, and probably won't stay for long. he's now attemping to rub his face on my hand while i type, a clear sign he is planning another mission onto my keyboard.

Yeah, mine is an american shorthair and he is REALLY fat. He always lays right across my fingers so I can't even type, not to mention all the files he opens up.
