What would you actually realize, nothing. I guess my mind would suddenly stop working, it would be a nice break for a little while but I'd rather continue thinking. Even though it can be maddening at times.
Now that you have me thinking about their mindset it seems like it would be very boring without thought or any sense of imagination, I enjoy learning too much. That has always been my hobby in life.

Well, I deconverted earlier this year. It feels scary and liberating at the same time. There's a lot of emotion involved, really.
My support group has been the friends I have met here. There does need to be more resources out there... there are some, but not many.
As far as being afraid of changing... that's not the fear I don't think. It's more a fear of admitting being wrong... no one likes to be wrong... and, no it's not easy to argue for God, then realize you were wrong and admit it to the people you've been arguing with. I would say more understanding and more approachability from the atheists/agnostics would be something we could do to help the people that begin to question their faith... at least to the people that are genuinely looking for answers, and not just being closed-minded or fanatical.
There's no need to be ashamed... people that can admit they are wrong have some major strength of character, in my opinion.

Not too ashamed. Most aetheists like to point out that most wars are fought over religion, yet Stalin and Communist China have probably more than evened the score.
And even if you believe in the Big Bang, without a God there would be no force to get the ball rolling so to speak. You'd have to believe in spontaneous generation. Which I believe would be a gross violation of Newton's Laws of Physics.
In addition, Quantum Physics is charting new territories. Some theorize that there may be as many as 11 different dimensions. We can only guess what occupies those dimensions - perhaps God?
Don't feel to ashamed for being a theist. Religion isn't necessarily bad, unless you feel the need to murder someone in it's name.

You should be ashamed of yourself for letting satan run your life. You seem to be blinded to the truth of God. I am not judging you, But you should seriously get some help. Going through life without a reason. Other than bashing people with the immature nonsense of athieism. I wouldn't waste my time with you if I didn't love you. May God open your eyes!.

How ashamed would the average atheist be if they could see themselves through theist eyes?

I am not ashamed because I think there is a God. I realize that it is illogical, but its there in me anyway. I would never try to convince anyone to believe in God, not that I could even if I wanted to. I don't see anyone convincing me otherwise as well. Some things are just not negotiable.

omg. how the hell arrogant can you possibly be? what makes you think any theist gives a shite about your standards? you're not the dalai lama, you know, we could care less about your personal opinions of right conduct. somebody on this board, aka you, is a little bit too full of himself.

How I am seen in the eyes of men means nothing.
It is how I am seen in the eyes of God that is everything.
