No I vote for the politically best qualified candidate. Religion or lack thereof is not a consideration.

No, I vote for the best candidate and their religious affiliation is irrelevant to my decision making process unless that person is guided by their beliefs to a point of being extremist; or they have an agenda to force their will on to us (like our current administration is doing).

I did not vote in the last election because there wasn't a good choice among the candidates. I am against Bush, but I also wanted to see Clinton impeached.

Yes, as an atheist I honor truth and justice. Since the vast majority of Republicans are right wing religionists I cannot in good conscience vote for them. Democrats are a little better and are sometimes the lesser of 2 evils so they get my vote.

My pattern of voting is based on the rationality of the candidate and the people around them. If that spawns for atheism, so be it. If it spawns simply from a desire for a government that is pragmatic, that's enough, too.

Typically no. I try to see past party lines and vote for the candidate.

However, I refuse to vote for ANYONE who's religion affects their politics. Against Gay marriage or stem cell research cuz God is? then Im against you. If you can give a more compelling reason than God, you may earn my vote.

I don't know that I could pick a representative that represents my atheism. I think, though, that if I could pick a rep who's record reflected a healthy separation of church and state I would do it. I feel threatened by religious influence ESPECIALLY at my local level.

You mean would I vote or not vote for someone based on religion?

No.

I vote based on what they say they will do.

i tend to voe for progressives not conservatives. progressives tend to look forwards into the future while conservatives tend to look at the past. medieval times to be specific.
