i have to teach a sunday school class with kids age 2-4, and they have the shortest attention span. i want to teach them something that they can learn from yet have fun learning about.

Take them outdoors. Dont' teach. Let them explore the yard or whatever nature there is around the church . You can tell them that God made the trees and the sky . Mabe ? you can fit this into the Sunday School lesson. In time you will find that the children are teaching you !
Lessons: tracking
blindfold hike
identify plants etc.... Remember to keep Jesus in all your lessons ____

Try using hand puppets, have each child become an animal and go on the Noah's ark, put a big piece of blank paper on the wall and draw pictures of things and people on it and let the kids paint or color it any color they want but before hand tell them who or what it is. you can get some music and let them sing to praise our Lord let him listen to the children. Have dance class,who does not like to dance. My friend ask God to help you also he has good ideas.

I really don't agree with teaching church stuff to children that young...
It tends to hamper them from finding a religion.
They eather get draged into some Dogma they don't understand.... or get driven away from it so much in there later years they are rather bias agesnt anything having to do with that domga.
Just do your best to play games and music to guide them with some good morals...
Let them figure out the religous stuff later when they understand it.

Iknow kids like art.. How about have them make a picture of the thing they love most? Not only would that be on subject but tell you alot about what their little minds are doing... Jim

Get them all little whistles, kazoo's or any noise making thing first.
then have some questions that these little ones could answer.
tell them the first one that knows the answer
blow your whistle or what ever they have
and let them answer.
you'll find they will really listen so they can make noise!! hope this helps!!

get a toy boat, pretend the flood is happening.. get a few more toys to show the corpses of all the humans on the earth and there you go, fun times for all.
