Islam is a culture, not only a religion as most people think. The strange thing about fanatic muslims is their ignorance of Islamic culture ( art, poetry, philosophy..etc. ). The Idea we have now about Islam is based on terrorists opinions about the religion, and not the reflections of philosophers about the Islamic vision in the thoughts of Islamic scholars.

Islamic leaders need to make as big a deal over the Islamic Fanatics hijacking their religion and culture as they do about the Pope insulting it. It seems like whenever someone says something insensitve about Islam being a force of violence, the lots of Muslims all over the Middle East say "We do not follow a religion of violence and we're gonna kill you for saying so!" Islamic leaders need to see that insults your culture just as much as the ones drawing cartoons of Mohammed.

Sorry, but you're either ignorant or lying to yourself and others. The "fanatics" as you call them know what orthodox islam truly is and live it in all its teachings. It's a culture because it demands all cultures and people it conquers must be destroyed and replaced by sharia.

A better question is how much better would life be if all organized religion were thrown out, and we all worked off a planned consciousness of love and peace.
