They shouldn't date their patients. If they do, it's unethical.
All they have to do is have you get another doctor. That's what they would do.

It is a violation of ethics to date a patient while under their care, same idea as doctors can't treat their own family members, there is no doctor patient priviledge, you are not just talking to your doctor, you are talking to someone you may not want to tell everything to, which can compromise medical treatment.

Shrinks shouldn't.
But medical doctors (physicians) are free to throw their women patients around the sack, I believe.
(Just not in the office/hospital)

They can loose their Medical license if they have a non-professional relationship with any patient.

While under their care it is not a good idea to start a relationship. That's probably a good way to get yourself fired if things don't work out in the end.
