Things seem so normal between us. But then we are both single parents... and have a huge dose of reality. That zip zang 'wow' thing isn't really there. It is more of a more realistic beginning of a relationship. is this a good or bad thing?

I don't think it's a bad thing at all. It's good that your relationship feel more realistic than a fantasy world. If you're just in that fantasy world, then you'd question that so much more and you'd start to doubt. Even if it's not perfect, nothing is, you know that something is there and not just in your imagination.

Normal can be good sometimes. It gives you a feeling that it's real, you know? Beginnings of a relationship can be defined either way, depending on how people may look at it or how to interpret it. We all have a different way of interpreting how a beginning of a relationship should feel like or what it should be and how it should be. The only thing that matters is you both feel the same and comfortable with it. You may have troubles at times, but that's just how it goes in relationships. You get the goods and you get the worst as a way of balancing the relationship.

Sounds to me it's what you make it. I would think two single parents and the reality of that, what did you expect? You are a parent and you are not going to be the same for wither of you. It is definitely more realistic and living in reality is the best way to live.

It sounds like a good thing to me. Since you're both single parents, you know how each other feel about things like raising a child and so you can connect on a deeper level.

I saw a movie once called "Love Comes Softly". Maybe there's no fireworks, but it's working for you, right?
