I read what you first ask and was appalled by some of the answers, by BOTH sides! Like you I know many Muslims and they are by their very religion, polite, kind and NON-VIOLENT, you have good and bad in EVERY religion, look at the KKK, they bomb Jewish temples and churches attended by non-whites and they do it in the name of God! (Allah is the same God by the way!) People have literally gone insane since 9/11, deciding to condemn an entire religion based on the crazed actions of only a few, and it's wrong! Sadly, there are members of the KKK within my own family, (Whom I have nothing to do with now that I'm an adult) and most all are Southern Baptist, are Baptists being blamed for everything the KKK does? Of course not, so I say WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? Come on people wake up and GROW UP! You can not blame all for the actions of a few, period!

So, are you saying that the media has lied about Muslims and that nothing that has been attributed to Muslims by the media over the past five or so years is true? How ridiculous is that?!
I am aware that the media is biased regardless of how objective it tries to be. However, both the conservative media and the liberal media show Muslims in the same light. They have not ignored that common sense fact that not all Muslims are terrorists and that many Muslims are ashamed of the murderous acts of fellow Muslims. What they have proven, though, is that it is often hard to tell which Muslims are good and which Muslims are ready to slit your throat. There is no way of telling and I prefer not to take the chance.
You say that we should do research and make up our minds when we have ALL the facts? And where should we look to find out those "facts?" Alljezeera? I don't think so.
As to "who is the better person?" Are you saying it is wrong to be cautious and not to trust people who have proven to be willing to murder thousands of people, including children, simply because some Imams say it is to the glory of Allah? Hitler said that those Germans who helped in rounding up the Jews were doing it for the glory of the Father Land? Did that make it less despicable? Did that make those who opposed him wrong?
Instead of criticizing those who are mistrustful of Muslims today for good reason, perhaps you should criticize the Muslims who carry out and support these evil acts and work toward stopping them so we can see Muslims in a good light once again.

Selnyk,
That's exactly how I feel about ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc.
VERY biased bush-hating, anti America, fluff.
On the other side of the coin, I've heard the Muslim countries newcasts at times. Also we TOTALLY know that freedom of the press is not existant in some places of their countries. It might be good that they would not be trusted because of that alone. They are infected by a particular type of information. One that sets them against the whole world.
Born of the same mind that began Islam. It puts them in a mind frame that excuses outward acts of cruelty, excessive behavior as we have witnessed, and the error of thinking that it's okay to kill certain people that disagree. Those that refrain, and do not adopt those tendencies are without the inner circle, while those that are within are those very parts of the religion that the evil spurns from. It is there that the evil seeks to hold a place, it is there where they can be most effective.
It's true that they have some issues where they were wronged, but their leadership looks at it as leverage to attempt to unseat the current powers in control, to be resisted on the cause of freedom. The lack of freedom that those Mislim hosts and their allies want to bring themselves power, until all the Earth is under the control of their councils.
It's not difficult to spot the bad guy. But many have lost their will to.

I don't hate muslims. I hate terrorists and I hate Islam.
I have read the three generally accepted english interpretations of the Quran (sorry, I wish I had time to learn arabic, but there's only so much I can do). What I can say of having done so is this -- any muslim who does not have a sword at his side ready to slaughter anyone who questions Islam or demand such person to pay jizya may be a good person, but is a bad muslim. The quran allows only three options for nonmuslims:
1. Convert
2. Pay jizya and accept being second class citizens
3. Die
So I love all the bad muslims -- I agree, most of them are great folk. It's the good muslims, the ones willing and ready to kill and enforce sharia on the world in the name of Allah that I have a problem with.

In all honesty, I harbor no animosity towards Muslims or anyone in general. Sometimes though, it may appear that I do.
What annoys me about people of religion is the constant proselytizing (sp?) by the fundies that pound on my door uninvited, and my friends who have been killed for Islam.
I understand that anyone of any faith (or lack of) can commit atrocious crimes. We are after all human, and therefore not perfect.
And I understand that due to the bombing of the USS Stark by an Iraqi missile, and the unfortunate attack on the barracks of the 14th Quartermaster in Kuwait on the last day of the first Gulf War, I lost 2 friends.
Yes, they were service members, and yes they signed on knowing the risks. The fact that the attack on the Stark took place during peacetime really does make a difference to me. Whether you can see that or not depends on your own beliefs and experiences.
However, my children and I have been threatened with beheading by Muslims on numerous occasions. Many of these threats are via the internet and easily ignored.
There was an instance where a Muslim doctor was sexually propositioning my son, and when I confronted him with this, he threatened to behead my kids and I to silence us.
I don't know if this makes a difference, but I happen to be a woman. No other person that I can think of would dare to threaten a woman and her kids in such a manner.
So if I have formed prejudices about a people, it's because in some way, they have helped to encourage it.

Islamaphobea grows because people see Muslims making a big noise and threats when cartoons were made about Muhammed or the Pope says something(also SalmonRushdie), but the Muslim voice against Isalmist terrorism is hardly seen.
In a recent survey here(UK), many Muslims openly supported the teoorists acts of 7/7 and 9/11.
Also preaching Islam as the religion of peace, when most terrorist acts in the world are committed in the name of Islam, is seen as totally hypocritical. It seems to me that peaceful Muslims must ,make their voices felt qand reform Islam.
Muslims cannot blame others for everything.

The Answer is Who hate who ?, If Islam keep threaten other religion, attack, killing in other country that is cause the war. Other religion don't hate Islam, because other religion hate Violent !!!, In other religion we cannot kill, burn, rape just because you attack our religiion. NO OTHER RELIGION WILL AGREE WITH THAT, But Islam DO, So Islam need to stop hating other religion, Which you cannot because base on your Al Quran.
If you say extremist, terrorist are not from Islam, So what are they come from. Did they go to the special Mosque to be Terrorist or Extremist, The answer is NO. They go to the same mosque, they faith are base on Al Quran. I grow up in Indonesia, my house are close to mosque, I already hear a lot of hate speech again other religion. Other Religion dont hate Islam, Other Religion scare with your violent. I am not base on the media, I also have a lot of muslim friend, I am from muslim country and I know how muslim thread non muslim. We can be friend with muslim but when it come to the religion, they thread us like enemy because of the religion. How many Church or other religion have been bomb, burn down, how many pastor, other religion beleiver have been torture and kill.
So please stop talking nonsense. Violent, hate are not solving the problem. And stop calling your self peace. If your religion are peace the whole world will be peace. So what are you talking about ?????

Judge individuals based on their own merits, not a whole group of people based on the behavior of a select few. Some Muslims are great and some Christians are great. Some of each are rude and threatening.

You muslims must just use the same assumptions. Look at your reaction to any negativity towards that fool of a "prophet" you follow blindly or your religion. At least Christians aren't killing and firebombing mosques, which may just start if you don't knock it off! I for one am sick of bending over backwards to not offend you, and have stopped. I treat you exactly the same way muslims treat me.

Hatred is on no account a purpose in Islam. we don't hate any Christians purely by way of fact they are Christian. Islam made regulations for a Muslim society with Christians and Jews living between Muslims. on an identical time as on his loss of life mattress, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) asked his close followers to shelter "the folk of The e book" which ability Christians and Jews, and while HE repeated that few circumstances, HE grew to become into asked why, HE replied; by way of fact i visit be puzzled with reference to the way they have been dealt with on the day of Judgment. consequently, in theory there should not be hatred between Muslims and "the folk of The e book". whether, Muslims hate people who attack their international locations, break their villages, kill their families and scouse borrow their place of beginning. does no longer you? Muslims, Christians and Jews lived inclusive of absolute unity formerly Palestine grew to become into stolen by making use of unlawful immigrants from East Europe. We on no account had all this hatred for the Jews that grew to become into initiated by making use of the creation of Israel on stolen Palestine, and for the Christians who supported that creation and the persevered profession. in case you attempt to make it up that each and every person Christians and all Muslims hate one yet another, you're incorrect. to illustrate, Muslims do no longer hate Arab Christians, or friendly Jews or Christians from unfavorable international places. All Muslims sense with the relatives of Rachel Corrie, who grew to become right into a Christian and grew to become into killed with chilly blood by making use of the Israelis.
