it is over-rated. i was laughing at how they honor the women who are either married or dating the players. the women get matching outfits to wear and whatnot, lol. i just started watching golf in august and i never knew they would do that. they have never honoured the women married to or dating football, basketball, baseball, and tennis players. wierd.

I think that golf should be an individual sport rather than team play. The concept of four-ball and such really doesn't appeal to me, but I do like the competitiveness of the singles matches. Not that I consider four-ball to be non-competitive but it's a little boring.

I prefer the Presidents Cup over the Ryder Cup because then you get the likes of Singh, Els, and Scott for the International team.

I don't think that it's overrated at all. People, including me, get more excited about the four majors anyway. The Ryder Cup comes fifth, as it should.

Plus, there's an uncertainty about it, because the best players don't always do well in a team format. Tiger Woods has a career losing record (9-11-4) in the event.

And lastly, it's America vs. Europe. That's a pretty sweet match-up.

i ought to ought to assert the Ryder Cup. the Masters, even with the reality that that's an exquisite coveted win for any professional golfer is on the suitable of the day merely one in each of four "important" tournaments performed in accordance to annum. The Ryder cup is even with the indisputable fact that, a contest the position golfers represent their united states/continent. they don't play for the money or status that contains triumphing the Masters, they play for nationwide pride. which will continually trump money and status.

Let me guess you are an American. You do sound bitter. This is perhaps the greatest golfing event in the history of golf and as exciting as it gets. Too bad the USA can't field a competitive team

i dont agree. how can it be overrated? its team golf. individually you cant blame anyone else for screwing up. but there is more pressure to make putts because you arent trying to do it for money, you have your teammates and your country to think of. plus it comes every 2 years. its not an every year event and nobody gets to see it often.

Not if Europe keep winning it's not.

The only ones that feel it is are the yanks because they can't stand losing, yet if they were winning it would be the "best thing since sliced bread"
