In my research online and with actual people (mild adult autism), I perfered interviews with people with autism rather than clinic studies. It depends on your purpose, as in: self treatment and understanding, treatment & understanding for another, degree for career, or other. I know a few high functioning autisum people. J. is high IQ but socially too immature for most to concern themselves about but he needs socialization. He tends to recite the same joke over and over again everytime he sees you as the first time he got a favorable response. After a time you become ho hum about his joke and he will go thru his own reprotire. But he is a high earner as far as career is concerned and he lives quite like a king in beautiful apartments. He can hire anything done, like cleaning but he gets distracted easily when engaging in activities with people. He likes fine restraunts and art that has elequant but not angry and or ugly. No trashy stuff. He is very musical & very adapt in computor games. He lives like a monk with no decorations but he has state of the art technology. I try to see that he doesn't become a loner and he can express himself in letters but not so well in person. He knows some people shun him or just forget he exsist. That's just one. He reminds me of a 14 year old boy and dresses like one but he is very distinguished looking and quite handsome. Perhaps it's wise that he dresses in Dennis the Menace outfits or women would find out that he is worth a lot. Chuckle. He thinks nothing of getting his girlfriend $500 to $1000 gifts but he's sort of run out of people being interested in a 14 year old playboy. It's an interesting situation. Others suffer painful episodes and I was told that one group in England suggested spankings to teach by touch. I agree touch is important but I think spankings are not my style to teach or learn. Learning shouldn't have to be painful.
