When I cook meat, how long can I keep it out of the fridge (covered) until it starts to get bacteria? Someone told me 3 hours, but what if you need to take lunch to work and there are no fridge???

Three hours is about right. I wouldn't take a chance on eating meat after that. Think about - how would you feel if you favorite restaurant served you meat that had been sitting out for 3 hours.

You should bring something else for lunch... or convince your job to invest in a refridgerator.

You can leave cooked meat out for approx. 1 hour before contamination begins.

buy one of those little ice bags that hold a 6 pack and put a ice pack (the blue ones you put in freezer) in it and you can even keep you beverage cold......and you will have no problem with food borne illness.(bacteria growth)

WELL I HAD A CAFE ONCE , AND I COULD ONLY LEAVE SANDWICHES FOR 4 HOURS UNREFRIGERATED.. SO ANY LONGER THAN THAT, SPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER, I WOULD BE WARY.
