Neosporin + pain relief. I use it for my son. He seems to get relief.
Then take your favorite over-the-counter pain reliever. Anti-inflammatories are the best ie. ibuprofen if you don't have any contraindications for taking them.

I second the motion for Neosporin with Pain Relief. It has a little benzocaine in it to numb the cut. I'm assuming you mean a fairly small cut. The hope the person who said kerosene was joking. That sounds more like a way to accelerate certain forms of cancer.

Well, first I would recommend killing the germs. If you have some alcohol or some...oh geez, can't think of the name, but it comes in a brown bottle...pour that on it. I know it will hurt, but killing the germs is necessary!

If you've got some neosporin or something, you can put that on there. I believe it soothes the pain. They also make it where it won't scar as easily.

Then baby the injury. Try to keep it away from things that would aggrivate it. That's all I can think of.

Rinse the cut under the COLD water tap (though if the water supply is a bit dodgy, such as a funny colour, obviously skip that bit if you don't want the affected body part to fall off), then stick a plaster on it...... if it still hurts after that, dab it with something cold such as an ice pack / packet of frozen veg, etc

OK, your'e gonna think I'm crazy, but try ambesol, the toothache relief stuff. It has a topical skin deadener that will kill the pain by numbing it. Just don't try it on large open cuts.

This may sound a bit tacky but it really does work. Put some kerosene on it and the pain will stop automatically.

Pain is actually a good thing! But don't try to exaggerate it!

OR

By making a bigger cut elsewhere...;)
