at best, it's been proven that a person has a tendency towards certain behaviors which yes could lead one to be homosexual (or maybe not). There's not a homosexual gene, there is no absolute connection between a strand of dna and being gay or not.
also, murders can have biological and dna factors causing anger and aggression.
((I am not comparing murder to homosexuality btw!! i'm talking about things that we are "preprogrammed" with a disposition towards))
But in each case, the actions that the individual is a personal choice. Acting on homosexual desires is different than having such thoughts. Thinking about murdering someone and murdering them are two different things. Thinking about lying and lying are two different things.
Everybody has SOMETHING to struggle with from sin in their life. I say it is simply a test from their Creator, those who are gay, and the behavior is a choice. Recognizing it as a sin and staying away from it can make you a much stronger person than those around you. And yes, you may very well lead a very happy life without acting on it (having homosexual relations).
But, hey, that's just my views. I wouldn't allow it to be legal because of the influence it would have on others (especially children).
God does allow sin in the world, so don't blame Him for your situation if you're gay. You get rewards for obedience and it is an opportunity to gain many rewards.
Of course if you say its not a sin, then to you, your religion, and me mine.

Here is some information.
All a christian can do with the death of a spouse is write-off the expenses of the the funeral.
Now for homosexuals; the Supreme Court of the USA has set certain guidlines for marriage and for obtaining minority status and homosexuals do not match any of those regulations. Secondly the Christians have the right to be involved in politics as you are. Secondly the CDC has said that homosexuality is a choice and can be changed, since through observations many homosexuals after repenting have became heterosexuals. There is no scientific proof at all in the Federal Government that proves such a case as homosexuality being biological.
Although it is up to the State to decide if one can be married into a homosexual marriage, the Federal Governent does not recognize the marriage, thus you can only write-off the taxes at State and County level.
The Federal Government has Sociologists that are contracted to observe behavior and they are the reasons why the Federal Government will not recognize homosexuality at all.

I am a Christan, but do not agree with those who feel that because they are Christian they automatically have the right to judge and dictate the lives of others. To be more specific, I'm Roman Catholic, yet I fight daily for the civil rights of ALL people and homosexuals are at the TOP of my list! Two adult people who love each other should have the same rights as everyone else to serve this country, marry and raise children. (Through adoption or artificial means) Not only has medical science PROVEN beyond the shadow of any doubt that it is NOT a choice, but an act of nature, where does anyone get off saying it is wrong, that is for God alone to decide. And if you keep up with statistics, only 1% of sexual crimes are perpetrated by homosexuals, so WHAT does that say about us who are "straight"?

This goes back to some other questions that I have read on here. The real problem with the ones that are against all that, they are scared of what they do not know and do not understand. I know something of what you are going through. I am a witch and at first my husband did not want me messing with the spells and such. But as time went by and he seen that I would not hurt any one and actually helped people he did not mind any more. Same thing at work. I actually got laughed at because I believe in spirits and ghosts. But those people I ignored. Just try and ignore the ignorant people out there. I know that some people are going to be harder to ignore than others and it will take time to be able to do it, but if you just stick to your guns and keep going eventually people will realize that they have acted like a fool.

Anti-gay Christians haven't read their own source texts carefully.
Sexual orientation was not a concept known in the ancient world. The New Testament never mentions it. The obscure Greek terms modern Christians translate as references to homosexuality might well refer to male prostitution. Read L. William Countryman's "Dirt, Greed, and Sex" for a very eye-opening scholarly review of the Biblical literature on the subject of sex.
People cling to "infallible" authorities to avoid thinking for themselves.
And if anyone wants an exhaustive and mindbending examination of how natural homosexuality is, they should read the book "Biological Exuberance." But some people can't be persuaded by empirical evidence.

I have no qualms with that, nor your place. as quickly as I say that i'm an atheist, i'm retaining that there is not any god or gods based on the hassle-free information understand-how of a god or gods. i will assert, with one hundred% actuality, the God of the Bible, for occasion, would not exist. If guy is finite and the Biblical God is limitless, that's impossible for guy to correctly known God or understand that God exists, and any definition as mentioned interior the Bible is the parable of a guy. If God is likewise finite, then he's not any god, yet something else which would be labelled and defined. If he's a rigidity of nature, he must be gravity, existence rigidity, or collective awareness. If he's a few variety of residing, immortal entity, he must be an inter-dimensional being, an alien astronaut, or an incredible spirit entity. Now, does believing that any of those definitions of issues that I say are no longer a god or gods CAN exist make me an atheist or an agnostic? On that comparable word, my questions for you is that in case you have not got self belief as a Catholic is to have self belief and behave as a Catholic is to act, as with the aid of your own admission, are you extremely a Catholic, or are you something else totally? If, then, you're no longer a Catholic, and faith is a element of convenience and coaching, why then might there be lots training that would help the undesirable purposes to which faith is so often utilized? Why might a god furnish so imperfect a device to those that have self belief in him, thereby commencing the doors for others to contradict the very middle of the arguments made to justify the existence of the religion? And, in line with that answer, might it no longer be greater effective if faith did no longer exist in any respect?

Very good question! I'm a christian :) Every religion is this way. Think about the muslim religion and every other religion. Religions competing against each other, trying to prove that the other is wrong. This is the cause of some much war and blood shed to this day. Good Luck!

I guess you did not go far enough with your question or did not think it through enough. People want to affect laws not just Christians....you ask any group and they will ask the same questions you ask...including Christians...why do non Christians want everyone to believe what they believe? It is not as simple as a one sided issue as you try to make it...in fact as I read this it sounds more like a person with an agenda that wants to get their side across....
People are people whether they are Christian, non-christian, different races, gay, not gay.....all want to get their belief system to be the way it is......

the answer to the first few questions is a commandment from God and the Bible we belive and trust, "Go and teach and preach"
and for the record, the scientist who stated that homosexuality was from a gene being given at birth, 2 weeks later he retracted his statment, but that time he didnt make the headlines.
this case was just this year
many other scientist have tried to determine no 2 of them find the same conclusion, none of them say yes or no, the media formed its own conclusion inconsistent with the scientist answer

Christians want everyone to go to heaven, so they tell people the way is through Jesus. As a Christian, we try to life by the standards in the bible, homosexuality, goes against the bible. There is a spirit of homosexuality and all sexual perversion, Jesus can and has helped many come out of that life style. For those who want to do their own thing, do so without the blessing of the Christians. We have opinions based on the bible, but you are free to believe what you will.
