I don't think I can use a regular draw type knob as the screw fits into the knob, not into the wall. I don't know if they have a different name then a knob or where to find them....... Please help!!!!!

I agree with the answer above...don't hang from the ribbon. The ribbon should just be a faux accent. Attach the mirror to the wall from behind with a screw or toggle bolt and hang the ribbon from the knob and let it drape behind the mirror as an illusion. As for the knob....old-fashioned glass doorknobs that can be purchased at salvage centers and antique shops would look super.

You can use a regular drawer type knob you just need to get the proper screw for it. What you will need is called a hanger bolt. It is a screw on one side and a bolt on the other. The knob should come with a regular bolt so you will have to get this separately. They come in different sizes depending on your knob but I'm sure that someone at your local hardware store will be able to help you.

This way you can get any knob that you like and just screw the bolt end into the knob and the screw end into the wall.

I hope that helps.

Mirror With Ribbon

First of all, don't hang a mirror with a ribbon alone! Use wire and place the ribbon so it looks like it is holding the mirror. A mirror is too heavy, and even if you used ribbon only it would pull and look bad! Go to Lowes or Home Depot for most anything you will need.

find a wood screw (a pointed one) that fits the desired knob...cut the head off of the screw and insert that end into the knob...tighten it with channel lock pliers...then just screw the knob into your wall.

You can get drawer/cupboard knobs that have a screw coming out of them.

You could also get a drapery tie-back knob that screws in.
