If you can't brush you teeth after a meal try chewing a piece of gum for 5 minutes. The gum should contain Xylitol - prefereably inthe first 3 ingredients. Xylitol helps to inhibit the ability of bacteria to attach to the tooth thus avoiding decay

No because chewing gum only puts pressure on your teeth and will cause jaw problems later for some. and the sugar in the gum can rot your teeth if you chew gum at a regular basis...

Chewing gum per se will not do anything directly to the gums. It produces more saliva which has bactericidal action and keeps oral bacteria in check. This will lessen mouth odor also. You should always use sugarless gum though. Good oral hygiene and using a gum (oral) stimulator will help.

Very good. Chewing gum stimulates the flow of saliva. That is a natural enemy of plaque and harmful bacteria that raise hell with your gums.
