I've wondered the same thing myself, since atheism is NOT a religion... and I've come up with the following conclusions:
1) They doubt themselves.
2) They're jealous since we're confident in ourselves.
3) They just like to stir up controversy.

Contentment takes time maturity and patience. Being content means you have everything you need for your basic happiness.
I am content not perfect but content. My husband and I struggle we do not have a lot in the way of material things but we are joyful in God and Happy about life and there are some things that cannot be sold or brought and some things that you cannot put a price on. Here is an interesting thought EVERYONE I know that has gotten divorced has plenty of money and material things galore in the world's view they would be deemed successful.
There is a reason why Christians are under minded look up 2 Timothy 3:12 that sums it up. Thanks for the question and God bless.

I can! I'm off to celebrate the new year for my cultural/religious tradition of Judaism.
It is great that you are not among those who feel obligated to pressure people into believing something or into being "saved." What's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. (This perhaps is a part of the reason why people might respond with such hostility to certain members on this forum).
You should do what makes you happy.
P.S. I think the folks on here, like myself who are not Christians, and who want to engage in a dialogue are right that questions should be able to be asked without fear that the sky will fall or anyone will be banished to "hell." That is what healthy dialogue is!

Because it's FUN. Look, just 'cause I don't agree with you doesn't mean I don't enjoy the discussion. Most of the stuff here is just so much garbage, from every side. But those priceless gems of sincere inquiry requesting sincere response are just that -- priceless. I have enjoyed answering sincere questions from muslims (one about harim [wrongdoing] and one about performing prayer in space), pagans (mostly relating to ritual design or content of one's book of shadows), and even christians (usually providing insight on my conversion to atheism, providing insight into the workings of science).
Sure, I'm not exactly the best person in the world for some of the spite and venom I fling around here. But I try to reserve it for the venomous and spiteful. Those who approach me with genuine respect get it return in equal kind. Quite like I've given you an honest and respectful answer even though your question was somewhere between dismissive and respectful.

I'm pretty content. My only criticism is that the beliefs find their way into teaching materials in public schools...
Additionally: are you saying that your beliefs can't stand questioning? I have no intent to seem offensive, but every belief is open to questioning or it isn't much of a belief.
Finally: why, then, do Christians spend so much time criticizing people who don't believe in the Bible?

I am content with the fact that we believe differently but I'm also curious by nature and like to hear differing opinions on things.

I am content with my religion. I think some people really are unsure about what they believe so they need to stay in this catagory to argue so they can make up their minds rather than agree to disagree.

If christians kept their mitts out of politics and minded their own business, and could also quit telling everyone in listening distance that they're going to hell things would go a lot smoother.
Who needs gods in their life? There's no evidence one even exists.

i completly agree wit you i am catholic but only coz my mum wants me to be. really i am interestd in hindu and am open to religions as i belive that you must be open minded to find god. of course this probably makes me a rubbish catholic and christian but thats just the way i feel about it.
sometimes wen people disciminate against other religions it annoys me because they are categorising people. i think everyone should just accept that not everyone belives in the same thing and we should be more interested in peoples personalities.
im only 14 and i think im definately more open minded than most of the people at my catholic school because im not biased about it
