My fiances monther was diagnosed with cancer in her lymph nodes december of last year and she has been on chemo and radiation and it keeps spreading. I know that she is close to death and I dont know how to prepare him for it. What do I say and when and how do I say it? Some people from a hospice have already come to talk to her and the family..

You sound like a lovely person and your fiance is very lucky to have your love and support. I am sure the people from the hospice will know what to say and do and when. Why don't you have a chat with someone at the hospice as I am sure they will offer good advice. Good luck and best wishes to you, your fiance and his family.

Hospice has counselors to assist with this. They are there even after the passing of a loved one for support to the family. You can never be prepared for the death of a parent, even if you think you are. The only thing you can do is be there for him. I thought I was religious and believed in God until my father passed away due to cancer. Then I was just MAD about Him taking my dad. It took about a month but ,I did turn to the Bible for support as well. Job, Matthew, Peter, and John, all helped me. I was so grief stricken that I thought I better go find the answers. My dad was under at home Hospice care, not in a facility. But, I truly loved the people from Hospice! They really help.. Maybe ask the Hospice counselor for advice as well. Good luck to you.

You don't have to "prepare" him for it, just be there as a support to him and his family. Say what's from your heart, and do as much as possible to help out the family.

i would see if you could have a quick wedding and have the reception later. i'm sure she would like to see her son get married. that's the one thing that i think would make her passing a little easier. it's a gift you could give to her and her son. you know her son will be thinking of her on your wedding day which is supposed to be a happy day for all. i would also let him know that you are there for him, and that you just don't know what to say. but, if he needs you, you'll be there for him. communication is the key. my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours

1st of all, i am very sorry to hear this, as its very sad,
best thing to do, is to be there for him of course, and try and be strong , as he will be very weak when he loses his mom,
unfortunatly we all will be going through something like this at some point in our lives, which is very sad to think about
i dont think you will have to say much, just being there, listening, is very comforting i think
best wishes
