You can take out a private loan through a company such as AES or Sallie Mae unfortunately the apr is much higher then that of a gov't loan (usually prime plus a percent). I would recommend living at home if this was the case but if you have no other option, I would recommend this and be very careful how much you borrow, don't get extra money for a 50' plasma or for spring break in Cancun, I did and now I'm regretting that decision!

I go to a technical career type college and I get a "living expense check" every seven weeks, however it's not enough to live on, just helps out to get caught up with the bills, etc.

If you get enough scholarships and are eligible for grants(fill out a FAFSA to find out). Otherwise student loans will be your only out. You could also work your way through school. It's harder, but there's no interest to pay back at the end. Or get a sugar daddy(just kidding).

if your parents make too much money for financial aid but wont pay, just move out and get yourself a job where you're supporting yourself. Then you will be eligible for financial aid.
