I know this question is a big target for some interesting answers, but truly it is for medicinal purposes other than not getting knocked up. Thank you.

Yes at basic training you are allowed to take birth control pills. They actually recommend it. If you need a certain kind for medical reasons, make sure it is documented in your medical records.

Yes. During the physical for entering the military, any and all prescriptions taken by a recruit are taken into account for their "fitness for duty" determination. It's not all that different from hay fever or blood pressure medication.

Remember also that while no branch of the military will encourage birth control pills, keeping the pant zippers of both male and female soldiers in the up position will be stressed. They are in the business of combat readiness, not providing day care.

It doesn't matter what the reason is for being on it. The Army can't stop you from taking it. You will need to see the army doctor to get a new prescription and it will be held by the drill sargent just like any other medication.

Yes, when you arrive at the AG Battalion they take all medications, but you can request to go to sick call and the doctor can prescribe it. However it is not common at all to be on it in Basic.

to my knowledge i think you may still use birth control, although i have heard from other females in the military that since they are under such stress they usually don't get their period.

As an RN, I have seen too many young women come home from basic training with a bun in the oven, and kicked out of the military.
BCPs are probably a good idea.
There are predators everywhere, even at basic training camps, and trainees are very vulnerable.
