Jesus Himself made the claim that He is God. He applied the name of God, "I AM," to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. There are several others I have not listed. Besides this, Jesus said that He & the Father were one (John 10:30). This describes a unity, even though there are two.
Jesus also received worship:
"Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!" (Matthew 14:33)
"Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him." (Matthew 28:9)
"They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy." (Luke 24:52)
"He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshiped him." (John 9:38)
"I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!" Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped." (Revelation 5:13-14)
Even the religious leaders of His day wanted to stone Him for saying that He was God. Look at this situation: "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some scribes were sitting there, arguing among themselves, "Why does this man talk this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:5-7)
And they were right. No one could forgive sins but God alone.

Jesus never ever said He was the Son of God. He referred to God as "my Father in Heaven" or "my Father" and also says "I and the Father are one". However, others, by my count 12, proclaimed Him as being the "Son of God".
So there's the controversy. He does say "I and the Father are one" but a lot of scholars believe that He was talking about intention and motive, rather than saying He was God. Some say that it literally means He was God.
It's my belief that He was God in that God is the brain, Jesus is the body and the Holy Spirit is well, the spirit. Like us, three parts in one.

That is because the trinitarian doctrine is based on the Nicean Creed from the Middle Ages.
The Nicean Creed can easily lead to the erroneous conclusion of three gods.
However, the Bible repeatedly says that God is one.
How I read it is the way Swedenborg reads the Bible - in a monotheist way:
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.
If you read the Bible you will never see the Father being described with a body or the Holy Spirit being described with a body. Only the Son of God is the body or Divine Human. The Son of God refers to the Divine Human or the visible body that Jehovah God took on in the world and made divine.

Jesus is God the trynity God is made up of 3 parts father son and holy spirit all are one but show different forms. my thinking is that to the Jews a son was the closest thing to a father he was proud to have a son so when God came to earth in Jesus he called Jesus his son where realy Jesus was part of him and reterned to him hard to explain on here but Jesus is God with God in God they are the same while being different forms of the same like water being liked solid ( ice) or a gass ( steam )

I guess it may depend on your beliefs, but as far as i'm concerned Jesus is the son of God. God gave Mary a baby (Jesus). God first created the Earth, and everything else, before Jesus was born.

Some sects of Christianity do believe Jesus was god, others do not. Muslims say he was not, that he was a prophet, that he was taken into heaven and will eventually return. Jews say he either was a lunatic or that he was a prophet, nothing more. Buddhists consider him Enlightened and often call him Lord Jesus just as they call Buddha as Lord Buddha by virtue of that enlightenment.
Most other religions are pretty ambivalent about him entirely.

That's a tough one and you are correct in claiming that it has caused multiple denominations to spring up. This is something that we all wrestle with.
I, personally don't think that we are meant to totally understand God. Jesus said that the things you do in honor of Him were also in honor of the Father. But, He also said that He (Jesus) wasn't in on all of the future plans. Father, Son and Holy Spirit - I believe all are one in some way. I can't see anything being impossible for God.
I know I didn't really give you any help. Welcome to the wrestling.

Jesus is fully God and fully man. This is why the Church (Catholic) calls it the mystery of the Trinity. Our God is one being, three persons (Jesus is the 2nd "person" of the Trinity) and eternally family (God the eternal Father, Jesus the eternal Son).
When you think about how we are called to be the Body of Christ, and that through Christ, God has reconciled us to himself, we have been given a truly great gift ... we have been called to be part of the family of God!

Hello, fa-ire, I was shown in Genes 1&2, that JESUS was GOD in the flesh. That the belief of one in three persons(Father, Son and Holy Ghost) is the way it is. GOD isSPIRIT and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and truth, (from the Bible too). So HE sent that Spirit in the form of flesh, to Show the Way of GOD, then return to the heavens. So to not leave us alone w/out aGuide, Comforter.

In fact, if you look at the mythology that predates Jesus, he is in fact a demigod. Why? Because according to biblical scripture, he was born of Mary, a human, and the Holy Spirit, which is supposed to be the "implanting" agent of God. Logically, and supported by the myth that precedes Jesus birth, Jesus must be a demigod given that he was half human and half god.
