When u go on an excursion the equipment is included in the price, if ur not sure call or e-mail them. All the charter boats supply their own. The best is the Trilogy to Lanai. Do not rent from hotels they'll rip you off, go to Snorkel Bob's in Napili (between Kaanapali & Kapalua), they might have one in lahaina also.Honolua Bay North of Kapalua & Ritz Carlton is a fish reserve along w/ the adjacent bay called Slaughterhouse. You can rent ur own & drive, but I reccommend u hop on a tour sailboat, they'll supply lunch, equipment, take u right to the fish, & a beautiful guided tour that's worth every dime! Aloha, have fun! Wailea & Kihei have many great spots also, just ask any lifeguard so the currents don't take you to Tahiti. We have some extremely strong currents in Maui, I'M NOT KIDDING! I have pulled many tourists in when they got caught in a current & i recognized they were headed out from the Island. We have a current called the Molokai Express. You figure out why. Always speak to the lifeguard. I wouldn't even trust all of the locals, some of them may trick you.

Before you go to Maui make a stop at Hanauma Bay on Ouahu. It's a state park and there is a coral reef in the bay at about knee level. You can rent snorkeling equipment there. Because the reef is so close you can practice using the equipment without having to worry about being a strong swimmer.

I highly recommend it.

Rentals are reasonably suitable, but if you buy your own, you can ensure that it all fits really well.

Also, Maui has excellent snorkeling on most of its beaches, so having it around for the entirety of your trip will be much more convenient than trying to rent it.

Molokini is really cool, btw! You're gonna have a fabulous time!

If you enjoy snorkeling once you're there, I also recommend driving north of Kapalua to Honolua Bay. It's a preserve, so there is no fishing or dropping anchor there. I have been quite a few times, and have swam with turtles, been in the center of a school of fish, and hand-fed the local fish. It's awesome!

Just rent the gear. And while on Maui, check out the snorkling at mile marker 14 on the way to Kaanapali Beach. Don't let the shore appearance fool you. Also over at Black Rock.

We offered ours on line from an outstanding diving internet site. be sure that they have a valve interior the impressive of the snorkel so it won't enable water in whilst or in case you dive down. i could spend a minimum of £30 or extra. We offered fins too, yet they are quite cumbersome to hold interior the suitcases. maximum places interior the Maldives will actual have their very own snorkelling kit and a selection of of times they are an extremely sturdy high quality. we've used inn snorkels interior the Maldives and Thailand and that they have been very clean.

no you dont have to because you can rent some of the equipment. Some of the equipment are made specially for snokeling at Molokini. I used to live there and it was bomb to go snorkeling.

It depends on how much snorkeling you plan to do. If very little, rent. If a lot, buy your own equipment.

When I went snorkling in Hanauma Bay (Oahu, Hawaii) I rented mine. It was $40. If you have roon in your luggage and do mind other people have used the equipment...then buy I guess. But if you are not an avid snorkler and you'd only use this one time...I'd say rent. If you have time, dive Hanauma Bay in Honolulu. I know its a flight...but its fun! Its great there. Dive the earth's crator as they say over there....the volcanic remains are amazing.

No, you can rent gear, but would you want to put your mouth on a mouth piece that someone else has used? I know they disinfect all the gear, but it just seems grose to me. I bought my snorkel gear for cheap at k-mart in hawaii. Have fun on your expedition.

When going snorkling or scooba diving you need to follow a few tips of safty. I listes the most important for you, so you can be safe on your trip. because I care about you a lot and dont want anything to happen to you.

One tip is that when you make sandwiches for lunch, make sure its not tuna sandwiches, because all the tuna fishes in the water have a really good sense of smell, and theyll call all the other tuna fishes, and so when you go in the water, theyll know that it was you eating tuna, and theyll try to jump you.

Another tip is that when you go in the water, dont wear all red, because the sharks will think that your a big salmon egg, and they love iant salmon eggs, and theyll try to eat you

Last but not least, when you get out of the water make sure to watch your back, because the children jellyfish always play practicle jokes on divers, theyll always wait until the scoobadiver guy trys to get out and crawl in the boat, and then itll stink you in the butt. and theyll all laugh at you.

Have fun and make sure you follow those simple tips, and you should be safe.
